Irondale Cafe Original Whistlestop Cookbook

Beginning as a humble Alabama hotdog stand in 1928, the Irondale Cafe eventually evolved into the original Whistle Stop Cafe, famously providing inspiration for the book and movie versions of Fannie Flagg's beloved ode to Southern femininity (and food!), "Fried Green Tomatoes."

This collection -- created by the cafe's owner, Mary Jo Smith McMichael -- showcases 230 of the great Southern dishes that have made the restaurant famous, including (of course) those revered Fried Green Tomatoes.
